It was always clear, really. But these pieces in <i>New York</i> magazine and the <i>New York Times</i> about the rough times hitting the famous and fortunate have been driving me crazy.<br><br>It also has a weird resonance with the stories of South Americans and Asians who come to America and are shocked that they are classified as non-white. I haven't fully thought this line through, but my gut has the same unpleasant reaction in both cases. Oh, god.
