		<description>Oh, god.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Living in Brooklyn through the recession has been a disgusting lesson in the economic disparities of NYC.  It was always clear, really.  But these pieces in &lt;i&gt;New York&lt;/i&gt; magazine and the &lt;i&gt;New York Times&lt;/i&gt; about the rough times hitting the famous and fortunate have been driving me crazy.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;It also has a weird resonance with the stories of South Americans and Asians who come to America and are shocked that they are classified as non-white.  I haven&#039;t fully thought this line through, but my gut has the same unpleasant reaction in both cases.</description>
