Dr. Spence, first let say that I'm very pleased to see that you've taken the time to write some timely posts. I couldn't imagine going this whole political season without your sharp commentaries.

The problem with Tavis was manifold but I'll give an abridged version. First and foremost, he was intellectually dishonest. How could you hold a microscope to reveal Barack's political acne and not subject Hillary to rigid sigmoidoscopy when she is so full of shit? Also, a serious exploration of foreign affairs and economic uncertainty would have to include the sponsors of the SOTBU. Finally, the utter silence on the use of racial code words, the most recent being the euphimism for uppity Negro, by Clinton and her surrogates warranted a much more powerful response. So whether or not he acknowledged it, Smiley's criticisms weren't about journalistic integrity. Moreover, he insulted us as a whole by repeating racist tropes about blacks embracing Obama for emotional rather than political reasons.
