She is adamant against whites dating blacks - unless it's black women dating white men. For her the numbers make that an acceptable option for women. For black men, however, her belief is that they - we - should be obligated to date and marry within our race because too many lonely sisters just can't find a good black man. On a mathematical level, and even on an emotional level, I do understand what she is saying. Of course I do. But I also believe that the minute we try to mix love and race politics we are making a huge mistake. Huge. Love should be about love should be about love. If you love someone then you love someone. Telling anyone that they should first love within their race is backwards and contrary to how freedom works. If we're gonna be free then let's be free.
